EPSDT

Pediatric Preventive Health Care Program

Known as Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT). Liaisons in the EPSDT Department assist the Parents or Guardians of all Members younger than twenty-one (21) years of age in receiving EPSDT screens, treatment, follow-up, and referrals to the Early Intervention Program when appropriate. The EPSDT liaison also facilitates and ensures EPSDT compliance, provides follow-up concerning service issues, educates non-compliant Members on AmeriHealth Mercy's rules and regulations, and assists Members in accessing care.

Vaccines For Children Program (VFC)

Primary Care Physicians treating members up to age 18 must participate in the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC).

The Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Vaccine for Children Program provides vaccines to children who are Medicaid eligible or do not have health insurance and to children who are insured but whose insurance does not cover immunizations (underinsured). These vaccines are to be given to eligible children without cost to the Provider or to the Member.  All routine childhood vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) are available through this program.

Contact the Pennsylvania Department of Health:

If you are not currently enrolled in the Vaccines For Children Program, please complete the VFC Enrollment Form.
