CAQH Credentialing

AmeriHealth Mercy is pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH), to offer our practitioners the Universal Credentialing DataSource that simplifies and streamlines the data collection process for credentialing and recredentialing.

Instead of sending multiple forms to all of the health plans you are contracted with, you will now be able to simply provide credentialing information to a single repository, via a secure Internet site, to fulfill the credentialing requirements of all health plans that participate with CAQH. More importantly, it will eliminate paperwork and greatly reduce the administrative costs associated with the credentialing and recredentialing process.

CAQH, an alliance of America’s leading health plans, networks and trade associations developed the Universal Credentialing DataSource, which will be available to AmeriHealth Mercy practices beginning July 22, 2008, and will simplify the paperwork process for everyone involved. AmeriHealth Mercy’s goal is to have our providers enrolled with CAQH by January 2009.

There is no cost to practitioners to submit their applications and participate in this program.

CAQH’s credentialing data system allows:

  • Practitioners to submit just one standard application to a single confidential database.
  • Information to be submitted online, or by fax.
  • Practitioners to easily update their information at anytime. Additionally, practitioners will be asked to verify that their information is accurate and complete on a quarterly basis.
  • Authorized participating health plans and healthcare organizations access to the credentialing information at any time.
  • Health plans to use this information to update and maintain their provider database.
  • Group managers or provider organizations to complete the application for multiple providers via an easy to use Practice Administrator Module.
