AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan’s Sherry Knowlton Testifies Before the Pennsylvania State House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania State House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services held a public hearing on the Managed Care Panel today. Sherry Knowlton, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan testified before the Subcommittee on behalf of both AmeriHealth Mercy and its sister plan, Keystone Mercy Health Plan based in Philadelphia.

Knowlton’s testimony addressed the impact of the Department of Public Welfare’s budget proposals for State Fiscal Year 2007/08 on Pennsylvania’s Medicaid recipients and the Medicaid Managed Care Plans serving this population. Her focus was on the Department of Public Welfare’s proposal to carve out Pharmacy from HealthChoices managed care.
