Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania Honor
AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan
Scranton, PA - The Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania honored AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan at its annual Mamma Mia's Sports Banquet on Monday, May 23, 2005. AmeriHealth Mercy was honored for their contributions to the community and commitment to teaching area youth how to live and maintain healthy lifestyles.
AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan recently donated five First Aid kits to the Boys and Girls Club along with a financial contribution. The contributions will help to benefit various recreational, meal and education programs vital to the organization.
"We are very appreciative of AmeriHealth Mercy's support for our community and agency," said the Boys and Girls Club's Director of Development, Joseph D'Arienzo. "AmeriHealth Mercy has participated a great deal with the Boys and Girls Club in the past, giving youth safety and poison prevention presentations at various programs with our organization."
AmeriHealth Mercy Community Outreach Representative, Nancy Fahey, will continue the health education presentations throughout the summer months. "The health presentations are a great opportunity to teach youth how to take charge of their health," said Fahey. "AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan proudly supports the Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania in their continued efforts to empower youth in the communities they serve."
