AmeriHealth Mercy Sponsors 8th Annual Pennsylvania Statewide Latino Coalition Conference
Lehigh Valley, PA - AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan will be a sponsor of the 8th Annual at the Lehigh Valley Holiday Inn Conference Center, Thursday, October 23 through Saturday, October 25, 2003.
AmeriHealth Mercy and its sister company, Keystone Mercy Health Plan, will facilitate a workshop on diabetes, a timely topic since the disease is quickly becoming an epidemic in the Hispanic Community. Diabetes 101, presented by Dr. Hector Inchaustegui, Medical Director, Keystone Mercy, will discuss different types of diabetes and the signs to look for in making a diagnosis. The workshop will also discuss what a comprehensive diabetes management program is and what questions to ask your primary care physician and pharmacist when seeking treatment.
On Thursday, October 23 at 12:00 noon, AmeriHealth Mercy and Keystone Mercy will also host a luncheon to acknowledge and recognize the advocacy efforts of Latino elected officials.
The Pennsylvania Statewide Latino Coalition is a non-partisan organization of Latino leaders and professionals who represent public and private sector entities from communities across the entire state. The aim of this annual conference is to lay a solid foundation in order to develop the Pennsylvania Statewide Latino Coalition as a strong organization dedicated to advocacy on behalf of Latinos in Pennsylvania.
