Help for People with Autism

Autism affects 1 in every 150 children. Children do not “outgrow” autism. They become adults with autism.

There is no known cause or cure, but autism is treatable. Studies show that early diagnosis and treatment can lead to better quality of life. With the right services and support, people with autism can live full and healthy lives.

What resources can help both children and adults with autism?

Pennsylvania is now offering more services for children and adults with autism. It is the first state in the nation to have a waiver program offering services to adults with autism.

For more information about this waiver go to www.dpw.state.pa.us/ServicesPrograms/Autism/ or call 1-866-539-7689.
