Community Health Programs

AmeriHealth Mercy is dedicated to improving health outcomes and is strongly committed to the communities we serve. With the support of providers, community organizations, and faith-based organizations in the Lehigh/Capital area, we offer a wide range of health programs aimed at helping improve the health of our members and our neighbors:

• Childhood Obesity Initiative
  An innovative program that promotes healthy eating and exercise among children.

• Healthy Hoops® program
  An asthma education program that uses basketball to teach children and their families how to manage asthma through appropriate medication usage, proper nutrition, and monitored exercise.

• Helping Women Live Healthier
  A specially designed program that addresses the spiritual, social, physical, mental and environmental health factors that affect the health of women, focusing on prevention and treatment of heart disease, breast cancer, and cervical cancer.

• Children's Art Program
  This program allows young members of AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan to express themselves creatively through drawing. The program aims to increase participants' self-esteem and promotes health awareness.
