Eric J. Berman, DO, MS Regional Chief Medical Officer, Northern Division

Eric J. Berman, DO, MS, is the Regional Chief Medical Officer, Northern Division, for the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies' Medicaid managed care business, which includes Keystone Mercy Health Plan in Philadelphia, AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan, in Harrisburg, and MDwise Hoosier Alliance in Indiana.

In this role, Dr. Berman is responsible for all Medical Affairs initiatives including utilization, case and disease management, and quality management. His team works closely with health care professionals to develop programs that best support the health care needs of the health plans' members. Dr. Berman plays a key role in implementing and supporting the medical management strategy for Keystone Mercy Health Plan, AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan and MDwise Hoosier Alliance

Dr. Berman brings many years of medical and leadership expertise to the Family of Companies. He most recently worked at AMERIGROUP Community Care where he served as the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for the New Jersey market and as a National Medical Director for Medical Management. Prior to AMERIGROUP, Dr. Berman served as a Medical Director for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

Dr. Berman received a dual Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree from American University, and a Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ/SOM). He is a Senior Scholar for the School of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University and Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at UMDNJ/SOM. Dr. Berman is board certified in Family Practice.
